I guess the way I have set is that technology is a competitor. Sometimes it steals jobs and makes traditional manual methods obsolete. But not all the time does it look bad like that. You have a point in there.
Derpy would still be a delivery mare in the same way that a FedEx person delivers your package to your door despite FedEx having plenty of airplanes.
