Description

Name: Turquoise Edge
Nickname(s): Turquoise Pixie Edge (full name), Turq, Ducky (only Zephyr can get away with calling her that), Brimstone Forrest (alter ego), Killer (by Galaxy Guard)
Age: 18
Birthday: November 11
Parents: Limestone Pie and Zephyr Breeze
Siblings: Hawk Eye (older brother), Fire Opal (younger adoptive sister)
Future Spouse: Pristine Melody (later divorced), Firefly (lover, not married)
Children: Holly-Hay Carol (future daughter), Falsetto Fallout (future daughter)
Personality:
A dedicated member of the royal guard, Turquoise Edge has the resilience and no-nonsense attitude of a true soldier. She hardly ever cracks under pressure and her temper can make a grown stallion cry. Under her tough exterior, however, she is more sensitive than she lets on, especially when it comes to her long-lasting feud with Galaxy Guard and her regret over the accident that caused it. Above all, Turq is fiercely loyal and family-oriented, willing to put herself on the frontlines for those she holds dear.
Relationships:
Tough and hardworking, Turq has always been a mare after Limestone’s heart. While their shared attitude made for heated arguments when Turq was a rebellious filly, nowadays they also share a strong work ethic and get along very well. Zephyr is also very supportive of Turq, but unlike Limestone he expresses his fatherly affection more overtly. Turq became more embarrassed by him as she grew up, but deep down she loves him very much. She’s more of a daddy’s girl than she’d admit.
Turq has a typical love/hate sibling relationship with her brother Hawk. They get on each other’s nerves and argue a lot. Turq can easily make him cry like a schoolfilly and win a fight with him, but her pride makes it hard to express how deeply she does care for him. She and her sister Fire Opal get along better and see eye-to-eye more, even if they don’t spend quite as much time together.
While once her best friend, Galaxy Guard has become the bane of Turq’s existence. Ever since the accident that wiped out Galaxy’s father, Turq has not been able to catch a break from all the blame and hatred Galaxy aims at her. She has every reason to hate this mare, but somehow she still longs to win back her friendship and ultimately forgiveness. It’s a long shot, but she still holds out hope.
Turq would never admit to it, but she is secretly a huge fanfilly. The pop star of her affections is Mistress Melodious, or as most know her, Pristine Melody. Once a rival on the schoolyard, the very thought of Mel now makes Turq melt like putty inside. But could she ever catch the eye of someone so glamorous, let alone have any kind of future with her? And could it last?
Out of her cousins, Turq gets along the best with Moonstone. While they are very different in interests and personality, Moonstone is easy to talk to whenever Turq needs to let off some steam or share a secret. In fact, it was Moonstone who helped Turq come up with a disguise to wear to Mistress Melodious’ concerts. Moonstone is also a good mediator whenever Hawk and Turq are fighting, as she is sensible and close with both of them.
Despite losing Galaxy Guard as a friend, Turq has other friends and acquaintances from boot camp. She goes way back with Sentinel Shield, who left the guard long ago but still keeps in touch. And although she barely knew Paint Swirl back in the day, Turq remains acquainted with her too. After all, she has her to thank for helping her earn her cutie mark.
Cutie Mark:
As a royal guard, Turq’s cutie mark of crossed spears represents her military prowess and strength in the face of adversity—both on the battlefield and in her personal life. The turquoise stones represent her strong ties to her family, to which she is fiercely loyal.
