It doesn't make sense that I think "...nor shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process" means police shouldn't be able to just steal your stuff without even charging you with a crime?
It's pretty simple, though. I don't like people having the power to just steal all your medicine from you because they think it's suspicious you're transporting your medicine on a vacation, or steal your grandpa's life savings because your Great Depression-era grandpa kept his savings in cash and you didn't have time to put it in the bank before traveling.
I also don't think Constitutional Rights should be able to be arbitrarily revoked without trial or any even suspected crime.
But maybe you're just a big fan of Minority Report stuff and arbitrary revocations of rights, I dunno. But it doesn't seem like rights are well-protected if lawmakers can just shrug and say, "eh, fuck it, this might help someone to SWAT them while they're feeling depressed, we can ignore the national law of laws for this. After all the law that governs laws is only a suggestion, it's not like those "
rights" things are actually *real* and codified into law somewhere..."
