Personally, I do enjoy fanworks more than the canon, some authors have great AUs (I do follow only Mauroz’ FIM, Pia-sama’s Rogue Diamond and Adorkable Friends, though).
 
I’m fine with Spike getting Sweetie as the next best thing, if that’s to where Mauroz will go (I’d prefer SpikeBloom, though). But, I think it’ll still have a lot of Sparity comming after the Berserker Spike arc finally be concluded.
