Well, you don’t necessarily need to have “dated” to have a kid with someone, and you don’t need a kid to have dated.
But Shining’s had a lot of romantic and/or sexual interactions other than with Cadance; they’re in nearly every pic Badum has made of him.

C:“Honey, how many mares did you date?”
S:“Uhh…you mean before or after we married?”
C:“Yes.”

CSI-MadMax was a girl. And more than one thread on /mlp/ or comment section on Derpi tried to find out what happened to her. The only thing anybody can say for certain is that just before all contact cut off she became homeless. Considering she was a girl living in Rio de Janeiro the consensus is that she’s probably dead. That being said, I do seem to recall somebody mentioning that they knew she was alive — something about about her moving out of the country — but there was no proof and the information was fourth‐hand.
