Princess Magical Aura (or, as she prefers, Magic Aura)’s mom, Princess Twilight Sparkle, is a bit pushy and a little in her business, but Twilight is just a concerned and loving mother who wants the best for all her children. You could say she’s the most worried about Magic Aura due to her… unusual lifestyle. Magic Aura hates her mom getting in her business, though.
Also, Twilight was HELLA HARD to draw. I was trying to make her look more princess-esque so maybe that’s why but still, DAMN.

Today, Princess Twilight and her family had to attend an announcing held by Princess Celestia. The Gala was coming up soon and this year Celestia decided that all four princesses (and their children) would attend. Although Twilight felt like it wasn’t required for her to go, Princess Celestia had insisted she go and bring her family with, so Twilight gave in since she could never say no to her former mentor. Twilight spent most of the morning getting herself, her husband, and her children ready. Thankfully, the children were older, so she didn’t have to help them get dressed, and her husband, Flash Sentry, was also a big stallion who could dress himself.
Twilight sighed as she got closer to her eldest daughter’s room. Getting Princess Magical Aura up and ready was going to be a task, because Magic Aura hated dressing up as a “prissy snobby princess”, as she liked to put it. Twilight hesitantly held her hoof up to the door. A sign hung from her door that said “Do not disturb”, but Twilight had to disturb her. She let out a breath and knocked on the door. She heard nothing. Maybe she was ignoring her, or sleeping. Magic Aura did like to stay up late, either writing or playing video games. She sighed and pushed the door open.
Magic Aura had been in the middle of a dream. It was a nice dream, but suddenly a flash of light appeared in her eyes. She winced and rolled over, shielding her eyes with her hoof. She groaned and rubbed her eyes, sitting up slightly and glancing at the door with the light that was too-bright-for-comfort. She saw her mother, Twilight, standing in the doorway with a frown on her face. Oh great, was she here to lecture her yet again? Magic Aura glared at her mom, feeling like she got no sleep at all. She had stayed up all night writing again. ‘Twas the life of a writer. Twilight’s face was gentle and calm but worried as she held the door open.
“What? I thought the sign told you to leave me alone.” Magic Aura huffed. Twilight turned her worried frown into a worried smile.
“Were you up all night playing video games again, Magic Aura?” Twilight asked gently. Magic Aura rolled her eyes and pulled her lip in disgust.
“No, I was actually writing. Why do you care?” She asked with annoyance. Twilight gave her an awkward smile.
“Um, I need you to get up, sweetie. We have to attend an announcing that’s being held by Princess Celestia, so I need you to dress nice and put your royal jewelry on, please.” Twilight said in the nicest way possible. Magic Aura groaned loudly and rolled over in her bed.
“Why do I always have to go to these stupid “royal and special” events, mom? They’re so damn boring.” Magic Aura complained, pulling the blanket over her face. Twilight sighed, placing her hoof on the ground.
“Because you’re a princess, Magic Aura. That’s what princesses do. They attend events and make a good impression on the ponies.” Twilight said a little more sternly. She hated it when Magic Aura talked back to her, but she didn’t like to discipline her children unless extreme measures called for it. Magic Aura reminded Twilight of… well, herself, before she met her friends. Magic Aura sighed and finally gave up. She sat up, throwing the blankets to the side.
“Fine.” She said with a huff, slowly getting up. Twilight smiled, starting to back out of the door.
“Thanks, sweetie. Come out when you’re ready.” Twilight said with a smile. Magic Aura sneered.
“Why do I have to do all this ‘princess’ bullshit? I didn’t even ask for this.” She mumbled to herself, as her mom left the room. She slugged over to her dresser to pull out some hair ties, her lense-less glasses, her scarf, and her royal gear, then turned on the light to get herself ready.
All she wanted to do right now was sleep and avoid going out and talking to other ponies, but today, life was against her. She sighed.
