@Bronydog Yeah, I had heard about how it took only 63 days for the first test injection, which is a new record — but that tends to be the fastest step anyway. I’m hoping that, with how hard people are working on it, that it only takes 10-11 months to develop and then approve, and they immediately begin ramping up mass production so it’s ready for injection or whatever on a wide basis by next March/April — I think that’s the most optimistic possible timeline (or at least, that’s the extent to which I’ll get my hopes up).
Of course, I hope there’s a treatment developed in the meantime which hopefully takes the most severe symptoms away, so that the social distancing stuff can be relaxed, and places can reopen (though until that happens, I’m willing to do my part).
@PoemeMystique I do find it believable, somepony wanting to censor anything remotely bad about China and cover it up sure sounds like China. Part of the reason why Kokorona-chan is causing so much trouble to begin with. Speaking of which:
MY BROTHER'S CITY IS LITERALLY LYING CORONA CHAN. THEY ISSUED A CORRECTION ABOUT THE FIRST CONFIRMED CASE IN THE CITY BECAUSE THE GUY WAS FROM ANOTHER CITY CORONA CHAN. THAT IS NOT RIGHT IS IT CORONACHAN?
HE WAS IN THE CITY'S HOSPITAL CORONA CHAN, I DONT CARE IF HE CAME FROM MALAYSIA OR FROM THE GATES OF HELL CORONA CHAN, IF THERE IS SOMEONE WITH CORONA VIRUS IN YOUR HOSPITAL THAT MEANS THERE IS SOMEONE WITH CORONA VIRUS IN THE CITY DOES IT NOT CORONA CHAN???
NOW I HAVE TO KEEP CALLING MY DAD AND MAKING SURE HE ISN'T BREAKING QUARANTINE CORONA CHAN. BECAUSE YOU, YOU FILTHY HORSE, IS WREAKING HAVOC IN MY COUNTRY CORONA CHAN, WHEN DOES IT END CORONA CHAN???
@wangkingfun2 The next bit that I've gotten is from someone who strove to remove all Chinese elements. She came out quite nice and is a big favorite along with the toilet paper dresses. I've still got some coming from other artists that may contain the cheongsam dress, but I'll be directing people away from it in the future.
@Havock Here it is. Don't say I didn't warn you. Alternatively, if it doesn't affect you like it did me… well, just step up your personal hygiene game anyway — I don't think you want to risk any chance of that serious form of the disease.
@Dsiak Yeah, I was planning a nice drive up California with my sister to attend BABSCon. Oh well, as long as the both of us make it through this, there's always next year (assuming there's a vaccine by that point, or else some form of treatment has been discovered so that the disease doesn't cause such… serious problems)
I WAS PLANNING A TRIP CORONA, I WAS PLANNING A TRIP FOR FOUR YEARS, I HAVE BEEN SAVING MONEY FOR TWO YEARS CORONA CHAN. YOU PUT THE WHOLE WORLD IN QUARANTINE CORONA CHAN, YOU PUT ALL OF IT, THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. HOW I AM GOING TO TRAVEL CORONA CHAN? HOW I AM GOING TO GO NORTH CORONA CHAN? WHEN WILL IT END CORONA CHAN???
@TinyEquine The link you gave in your reply led me here. I don't comment on the motive of the commission, and I believe this is done in good faith. And the image language of the client is not in your control. But I think as far as the image itself, linking Chinese elements to viruses gives a bad stereotype.
This would be quite cute to me — if I hadn't read an article about what happens in severe cases of COVID-19. I can link it if you want, but I'm going to warn you if I do — I would not read that article right before your bedtime, or anything like that, because the descriptions of what happens are graphic and very, very upsetting.
