i bet Alfonso himself wore those before Chairman Mao came into power or something as I now remember seeing people wearing those outfits in the Tintin story where he goes to Mainland China which was set at the time of when the Japanese invaded Manchuria but then after Chairman Mao came into power those outfits were only worn by old people in like Hong Kong, Taiwan and some Chinatowns in the western world as Mao himself ordered people to wear his iconic Mao Suit

Yes, they’re called Ming Chu robes. They’re usually worn by very old gentlemen back in the old days (in fact, Alfonso Wong, author of OMQ, actually used to wear these back in his prime).

You wouldn’t find something like this in real life (aside from cosplays), because the author actually shortened parts of the robes to enhance humorous effect. If you’re wondering about what these three white circles are, they’re actually buttons that hold the top flap of the robes.

Is that a real outfit because I’ve just looked on google to see a photo of someone actually wearing it but couldn’t find one?
