This is my first “What If” story of MLP: Friendship is Magic, where Starlight Glimmer remains an evil villainess and becomes this anti Twilight Sparkle who uses the magic of friendship for evil instead of good. Imagine her teaming up with some other bad mares like Suri Polomare, Lightning Dust, Trixie Lulamoon, or even the Dazzlings in pony form. I gave this version of Starlight Glimmer a better backstory like the real reason she started a cult without Cutie Marks was because she was bullied for being a blank flank and she hated the idea of ponies without Cutie Marks being treated with prejudice by their peers who have Cutie Marks so she decided to start her own utopia which involves removing Cutie Marks and replacing them with the same mark in the name of becoming “equal”.

Hardly, with Starlight on their side… Equestria is doomed, unless Discord is fully redeemed a true hero.
It will likely to end in equalization…. And Cozy Glow would be her victim instead of teammate.

No wonder I felt bad vibes the moment I watched the season 8 premiere.
Not quite. She antagonized Neighsay not over ideological differences but because he was doing his Celestia-given job. This is why the fandom saw in him the good guy and that his supposed defeat was hamfisted.
I’m imagining the boss statue from Super Metroid.
