I like the sound of that, given that Spike and Scorpan had history in G1 - who’d be with him though? My guess is Starlight, Starswirl, and Stygian.

Spike may be reserved for the gargoyle and centaur lands given that this country’s prince has been petrified, and the ponies did not exactly have a good impression of the centaurs after Tirek.
 
I hoped Pencils will make the arc about the Abyssinia since his designs on the abyssinians are some of the best. Perhaps an old G1 acquaintance will show up? And Fleece can take the arc about the Diamond Dogs since he was good with the Big Mac as seen in the previous arc. Maybe Andyprice should take the arc about Parrot Peaks as he likes airships.
 
The world is very big, as we’ve seen in the show - and we haven’t seen many of places like Saddle Arabia and the Griffin Islands with a possible exception in the story of Trotland. Equestria itself is not well mapped as the Hasbro map is a little too primitive and simple, there are many place names that are not put on the map.

Been gettin’ alota arcs taking place in foreign lands. Wonder what this could mean for the overall season’s story? Wait a second, Spike’s the ambassador, what’s his part in this?
 
I hope we get a story taking place in the gargoyle and centaur lands too.

She would have become a capable bodyguard for Applejack, and I sincerely hope that it’s far to Zecora’s homeland so you have to use an airship or sailing ship - and we know from the movie that Tempest had commanded such vessels. Her past with the Storm King is what prevented her from coming with Capper to a land left in ruins by her boss, and to come with Celaeno who has not forgotten how she and her crew are mistreated in the service of the Storm King - and Tempest destroyed her ship.

This honestly feels a lot like the writers just put a bunch of random characters together. Zecora travelling to the Zebra homeland makes perfect sense. But Tempest? From a storytelling perspective it would be more interesting to make her part of RD’s or Pinkie’s group because of her past with the Storm King.

Parrot Peaks, completely unknown to us - can only hope that there are flying islands where the parrots live, we know this is canon from the TV series. Based on how the expedition is put together, it is possible that they will come to a politically unstable country that would have been a natural place for organized pirate groups.
 
Kingdom of Diamond Dogs, we know this is partly below ground and partly in secluded locations as seen with the IDW episode around Trixie and Raindow Dash. The composition of the expedition is logical and based on early experience with the diamond dogs from before.
 
We are well acquainted with the Abyssinians, as the Mane 6 had visited these before the Storm King entered the country. It seems that the invasion had triggered a collapse, which led rival powers to clash over dominion, as we know Capper was worried about the conditions in his home country. A party in Abyssinia had sent an ambassador to Abyssinia. Twilight Sparkle will thus strike several stones with one blow in that way. It’s a bonus by removing Discord from the country at the moment.
 
Zebra homeland, no name here? It is obvious that Zecora does not want to return to her home, which indicates that there is a friendship problem there that needs to be resolved. Applejack will probably have to drag her along the way to the mysterious land. I really hope that Whitley and Price don’t mess it up. This expedition must go there by sea or by airship, whether they take the train or go on foot, it will be ridiculous.

Capper (thinking): first having a mission to get Luna’s powers from Eris, then i was searching crystals to avoid Cosmos and then i am in a party with Discord… why i am interested in similar creatures like him?
 
And must i say Discord that an evil alternate Celestia killed his cousin?

#3 is going to be pretty chaotic

This suggests 4 main arcs of the Season 10 arc in the IDW season:
 
#1 The one that starts with #89 (due soon once they start up distribution again) with AJ, Tempy, Rockhoof and Zecora  
#2 RD, Spitfire, Lyra + Bon Bon , and Captain Celaeno  
#3 FS, Pinkie, Trixie, Capper, and Discord  
#4 Rariry, Maud, Big Mac and Meadowbrook

What an unusual team-up.
