I think you meant to say Metal Slug 3.
 
Great animation, but that chest inhale on Littlepip looks weird. I know its supposed to be seen from a distance, but the way the line on her shirt juts out like that stands out too much for me.

sprite sheets exist. they were usually 4 frames for simple motions and were reused constantly. animating like it’s metal slug would cut down the amount of time you would spend on cells, but the process of sequencing animations gets way harder.

Seems like that would be a lot of work, because you wouldn’t just be replacing sprites. Besides, this was based on an animation for Metal Slug 2, and we all know that was the best one.

One option could be to make sprites for the playable characters first, release it in beta, and slowly replace the sprites for the rebel army, aliens, monsters and other enemies in phases.
