Clearly.
Nothing
your Picture is still up.
No one made a parody.
You know exactly what you were getting into. This is not your first rodeo
Fuck you. I don’t care what you think.
I guess I’m going to pretend I’m right by posting a reaction gif.
Besides, Benjamin Sisko is best captain (and he just so happens to be black :D) so really, how could I possibly resist?
No but seriously, here is a good collegiate paper examining the disparities of blacks in the United States.
An excerpt:
“Racial inequities in the United States are largely saturated because they are cumulative and reinforcing.
Racial outcomes in health, education, employment, environmental risk, occupational status, and crime are
not randomly assigned. They are embedded in a historical structure where racial minorities chronically
experience pervasive negative differences. These differences compound exponentially to generate a cycle of
racial saturation that continues generation after generation”
Additionally, the reforms being proposed by Campaign Zero are a fantastic start:
The congratulations is all from me to you.
Congrats on your brainwashing.
Care to back that up with some evidence or are you just going to pretend you’re right by posting a reaction gif?
>a very oppressed minority.
Blacks are better off right now than they ever have been. The media loves them, employers love them, colleges love them, and they generally have opportunities far greater than the average white man at the moment. The new oppression is against the cis white man, who is evil simply because of his heritage and sexuality. Colleges don’t want to touch him and employers hire blacks over him if their credentials are the same.
You do realize there are more images than just the BLM related ones being removed, right? Such as ones that are illegal or that are targeted harassment. This isn’t about “Disagreeing with the content”, this is about the principles behind hosting said content. There is content that is designed to appeal to certain people without bringing harm to others. Then there is content that is specifically designed to get a negative reaction from a very oppressed minority. See what I’m getting at? That’s why they released the statement they did.
Also, that image has nothing to do with this discussion, supporting gay rights is illegial in the middle east which is why bethesda complies with it.
The problem isn’t so much that content is being regulated, it’s that content is being regulated in a manner that removes it from the site. This is a problem because to be an image archival site, you should reasonably be interested in only one fucking thing, archiving images. Removing images of content that you don’t agree with is not only redundant since filters exist, it goes against the fundamental purpose of the site.
@Aurelleah
Yes, filters exist and we should be using them.
>Don’t dance around the fact that there are users who go out of their way to quell support for a really important issue, when said images can literally be ignored with a filter.
The same can be said about people who drive-by downvote Aryanne or foalcon or gore instead of filtering it.
But that’s enough for some. Instead they demand the site change its rules to appease them and their ideology of “if I don’t like it, it can’t exist”.
It’s almost like we should have some sort of filter for things we don’t like seeing. Derpi should really add some of those so we don’t see all the diaper-fetish foalcon stuff.
Oh wait. They do. People arent downvoting this because it’s political, they’re downvoting it because they disagree with it. Don’t dance around the fact that there are users who go out of their way to quell support for a really important issue, when said images can literally be ignored with a filter.
Ok, well then I’ve posted the solution. Another group, same message without the baggage.
Unless you’re also saying that’s no good either since it’s just going to be co-opted anyway and so what’s the point of doing anything.
It can’t be that hopeless guys.
You realize derpibooru is a privately owned and operated site that can do whatever the heck it damn well wants? “Freedom of speech” exists only verbally in public areas. Once you enter this site, you agree to its terms of service. And if those terms ban a type of image, that’s it. That’s all. That’s the end.
@Background Pony #9A6A
No, this site has a bunch of armchair philosopher anons from 4chan that like to brigade downvote posts like these and upvote trump-supporting ones and the type that were recently banned. There are literally threads for this.
@It’s Not Lone15 Here
Then why the hell are you still here? Go back to 4chan if you want unregulated content.
I’ll hold my breath.
You’re missing the point, movements like antifa and BLM don’t actually tend to care about the things in their names. Feminists want men to be portrayed in media as lesser than stronger, independent, females. Antifa will bash an innocent bystander with a bike lock because he was trying to diffuse conflict. The list goes on, ad infinitum.
Well to me the message of the movement is fairly simple and straightforward. I mean it’s right there in the name.
But yes, perhaps it would’ve been better had they added too at the end.
Black Lives Matter Too
Hey! Maybe that could be another group with the same message since people clearly have a problem with this iteration.
They could even stylize it ‘BLM2’
Pretty much this. See you on the other side.
Don’t be surprised when someone actually does that and it’s better than the original. But I suspect most disgruntled users will come to /mlp/ or /mlpol/ where it’s more comfy.
If they don´t give the protestors what they want they get Backlash.
If they do give them what they want they get Backlash.
Leaning in early might take the steam out a little
Sometimes, the only choices are bad ones, but you still have to choose
It needs to be tagged ‘mouthpiece’ too, because it is one. Anything the mods agree with is righteous, but anything they disagree with can be a mouthpiece.
@Backgroundpony
>Don´t tag it like that and the message gets out = getting louder
I’m honestly confused as to what you’re trying to argue, because it sounds like you’re saying that the mods want backlash to increase.
Honestly, if you are that assblasted about their decision. Why don’t you just make your own image archival site? They have the source code you can use available.
