Some may say: ‘Hey, it’s totally overrated pairing, their chemistry is bland and cheesy!, some may demand to encourage people to stop shipping them and fall for another pairings. Yes, canon!FlashLight is bland and cheesy, but what if we give it a try and season it with headcanons?

As is well known, captain Flash Sentry and princess Twilight Sparkle met several times, but they never managed to have a quick word because Flash was obligated to keep an eye on important ponies on duty whilst Twilight was insecure to take the first step. Dab hand at friendship and awkward at affairs, she was thinking if it worth a try to pursue their relationship. What if she isn’t able to keep in touch? What if Flash doesn’t like her? Needless to say that all of the mane six were like facehoof
Once upon a time, when princess Celestia had held a Grand Galloping Gala, they met again and had a talk. It turned out that they had a lot in common, both liked books, nachos, gazing the stars, Daring Do series of books and fire shows though they didn’t share the same views on life. What was right for Flash was wrong for Twilight and vice versa. Despite much controversy arose over life codes and persuasions, it didn’t alienate them, it kept them interested in each other. Both Twilight and Flash maintained correspondence ever since.
As time went on, Flash realized that he had a thing for the purple princess and realization of this fact was completely out of the blue. Everything about Twilight seemed to be perfect - she’s intelligent, sweet, witty, down to earth, gorgeous, the list went on and on. She was nothing like any other mare Flash has ever met in his life. But would dorky pegasi and impeccable Twilight work out? He knew about all of her heroic deeds, compared himself with her and felt himself unworthy. He had doubts about what their relationship can be and had no idea that love doesn’t work the way he thought it does. Eventually Flash plucked up the courage to ask Cadence for advice. Princess Cadence chuckled softly and told him that Twilight’s no perfection and love is not about merits but about mutual feelings. Flash would never known if Twilight likes him back if he doesn’t ask her directly. It was a long-long-looong conversation. Flash became convinced about the fact that Twilight is the one and only for him. It is to be noted that Cadence is a huge shipper of FlashLight. She adores them both dearly.

For a moment he thought it’s time to ask her out, but Twilight said ‘You’re as sweet as a honey in February, I wish that I had a coltfriend like you’. Despite her flirt being absolutely ridiculous and was ahead of him, Flash confessed his feelings to her. No language of this world could describe how light the air around them became. It was like a fairytale!
They were attending fire shows, watching cheesy movies, counting stars and reading books. She was his always beloved Sparks and he was her little goldfish. Awkward kisses that were getting more passionate and confident, warm whisper of love into ears, bright cornflowers in vase and comprehensive support - it was all about Twilight Sparkle and Flash Sentry. It is to be noted that they had a several amount of fights and unpleasant things between them, it made them stronger and they always managed to make up.
After five years of life together, Flash figured that it’s perfect time to propose. He was abe to afford an expensive and precious ring with diamond (lowkey Rarity was the one who helped him to come up with a ring) and one warm summer evening Twilight and Flash met again. He was getting to take the satin ring box, but Twilight kissed him softly and proposed. It was a huge surprise for them both to have wedding rings ready, and this is kind of memories of which keep them smiling after while after. They had a beautiful lavish wedding, with all their friends and family. The coronation took place after two years passed since they got married. Twilight always wished to have a child with Flash, but it was quite a challenge. They both were too busy to try for a baby. Twilight is a princess, Flash is a commander of military force of Equestria. But eventually Twilight got pregnant and those twelve months of waiting were worth every second. Flash brought his wife everything he wanted even if it was a damn watermelon at 3 a.m, and Twlight always waited for her husband and gave him a lotta kisses and tomato soup

Lovely. Love to see and read new interpretations of this pairing. The beauty of Shipping is making the story your own and I’m glad to see this here. I’ll admit to being biased, for shipping this since it started. But doesn’t change my appreciation for new and interesting looks at it. Lovely art.
