She definitely does…she has a hard time expressing her emotions to others, but she definitely has them. You do see lots of hints of this if you pay close attention. If someone got close enough to her for her to let them in, emotionally speaking, I think they would find that she is a really sweet, sensitive, caring girl. She isn’t the element of loyalty for no reason after all. She just doesn’t express herself very well in public, because she IS actually shy, when it comes to personal matters. In public, she only gets attention for her accomplishments, which she can deal with. Attention toward her, personally, is a totally different thing that she would be a lot more shy with. But yeah even the thing with her ego being her way of covering up lack of confidence comes up in the show, though subtly.

I like all of this. I’m all for Dash’s character being more then just 200% full of herself, careless to other ponies and otherwise emotionless. Seeing a softer side to Rainbow is something I can eat up. I know she can have a hard time dealing with emotions in the show but that doesn’t mean she can never express emotion. I want to see her able to cry or tell another pony she loves them, or show she cares. I’m not saying shes never done that before, or has to be an emotional wreck all the time, but still. I like to think of her ‘egotism’ to be more humorous than seriously thinking she’s the best thing to ever exist in the universe and above everyone else. She’s prideful, and I’m not saying there isn’t some true ego in there. Having it be a cover up/self defense for her own confidence issues is great and I could eat that up too. I agree that people flanderize her, from the fandom to the people who ran the show themselves. But after 10 years I think probably
every character has fallen victim to that before.
Oh I’m sure there are pics like that out there. But yeah, a lot of people seem to flanderize Rainbow. She’s actually a lot more emotional and a lot less egotistical than people think. The bravado she demonstrates early on is actually lack of confidence in herself…it’s a way to give herself confidence when she didn’t actually have much. She would definitely not be into casual relationships. To win her over would require caring about her a lot…and yes, loyalty. Because of how picky she would be, and how much someone would have to care about her to get involved with her, I could easily see her marrying the first guy she got into a relationship with.
I definitely agree with this, which is unusual.
Pretty surely there’s a pic of RD having beat up Zephyr for whatever he did, but my filters most likely block that.

Rainbow is generally a really nice girl. She would rather just make an excuse to not be around him, although she has made it clear to him that she’s not interested. If he actually tried to DO anything I have no doubt she would wipe the floor with him. She’s significantly faster and stronger than him, and while it’s not in her nature to actually hurt someone, she would at the very minimum embarass him pretty badly and probaly scare the crap out of him. If he did something like corner her, she would definitely defend herself, and he would be on the ground in no time (like I said she would do her best to avoid seriously hurting him but she would do what was necessary to protect herself). She would probably just knock him on his ass and then fly away (not a chance in hell he could catch her).
The type of guy she would get involved with is someone who cares about her but isn’t actively pursuing a relationship, basically someone she could be friends with first and slowly grow close to. I also don’t think she would get involved with any of the Wonderbolts, that would just be too awkward since she works with them.

That’s the joke. Zephyr likes to annoy/flirt with Rainbow dash, because he thinks she’s obsessed with him. But in return she rejects him.
This is what makes their interactions so funny everytime. And I know nobody who would seriously ship them
Indeed, he’s an annoyance, especially to her. Either Zephyr doesn’t get it, or he does and keeps trying. If it’s the latter, he’s just asking for trouble.
Exactly. She is not interested in him. I don’t see Dash as gay at all. She is also not someone who would take a relationship lightly, she would have to have a strong emotional connection to someone to get into that kind of relationship. And I can definitely see that as a possibility for her in the future (though there is noone shown in the show that she has that kind of connection with), because I see her as wanting kids of her own someday, though not for a few years at minimum, because her Wonderbolt career is her more immediate concern. Give her a few years to establish herself in the Wonderbolts and have some accomplishments, then I could see that sort of thing happening for her. But certainly NOT with Zephyr. Zephyr in particular is just a major turn-off to her. She si not even remotely interested in him. He’s definitely not even close to her type.
