All 2D Boulder Media series are animated with Toonboom, the same software used for the movie (animated by WildBrain/DHX Media).

Impressive.

Also: What Rainbow does here is something I would have rather expected from Pinkie, but I’m okay with that.

The style of this show, and it’s backgrounds, has a nice, slight 90s / early 2000s feel to it. Makes me think of “The angry beavers” and “The Fairly OddParents” for some reason. I like that. It’s great to know (even though the handdrawn/painted cell-animation is pretty much obsolete these days) that at least the look/style of 2D animation is still welcomed.
 
BTW: What program does HASBRO uses for “Pony life”. FLASH again? Or is it the program they had for the movie? Does anyone know?

It would be logical to assume that this is some sort of magical illusion that won’t last long, so it makes sense to use only for decoration.

Is this only for decoration or can you dublicate other things as well?
