Now all of my hooves are standing firm on the ground of my new home. I step aside to
let all the other ponies come and go. A swirl of many colors flash past my eyes. I
prefer to not stand in the middle of this crowd tugging on everyone in the opposite
direction of where they inted to go.
Coming home from a short day at work, on their way to vacations with the family or
simply just visiting a friend. For such a small town there is plenty of trafficing.
I turn my head and as expected even from here I can see the pompous castle made of
pure crystal. Though Princess Twilight had already left it behind to be used as an
extention of the school of friendship.
My right ear quickly twitched nervously. I will be attending soon. My parents had
previously set me up with a job and a spot in the school. Until now I lived in the city
of Manehatten and I must admit that I was at first happy to finally be leaving that
crowded place.
On the other hoove though I am now standing in a completely unknown place. I keep on
telling myself that this will be my home for now.
Once the train finally left and the movement at the station is calming down I take a
deep breath and notice I had been holding it. With a quiet sigh I move on to leave the
train station.
“Oi! Sir!” I hear someone call. If my short coat was any longer it would now be
appearing like a hedgehog. I look back to see a grey stallion walking towards me. “Yer
new here, aren’t ya?” he asks and I merely nod in reply. How does he know? There are so
many other ponies here! Maybe a small town village isn’t as private as I previously had
anticipated for it to be.
“Don’t forget yer map.” he reminded me politely and hands me a pamphlet labeled
PONYVILLE. I give a smile “Thank you.” and take it with my mouth. He returns a bright
yellow-toothed smile and then returns to his spot from where he can overlook the
station.
I stop a little further down the path and put the map down and unfold it. I start
looking for the town hall. My parents had told me to meet someone there who will bring
me to my new apartment.
I quickly find it. It was very centered in the town. I remember the paths I had to
take and fold up the map again and store it in my bag. I shoulder my bag and walk on. I
am taking my time on the way and enjoying the fresh air of the countryside.
Why am I here?
Well I am an adult stallion but I still lived with my parents (until now) and lack
any proper friends. I am friendly with some but I have trouble connecting with others.
It’s not just that I am bad at approaching somepony… I am unusure what exactly is my
problem but my parents decided that visiting the school of friendship will help me get
my life standing on my own hooves.
If I’d only known what ‘little’ town I had run into…
