A guide I once read said one shouldn’t cuz it’ll very likely trigger dislike/hate towards you, instead the guide said you need to use the spray in a way where the cat can’t see you right before or right after you spray (through a mirror or directly when you approach, and after you spray) cuz then they can connect you with the awful feeling of the spray, which’ll be most likely HARD to reverse.
 
I guess that also depends on the cat, but better safe than sorry.

From my own experience, this is an effective aid in teaching cats to stay off of tables and counters.

FYI: the description for “cutie mark” keyword says it’s to be used on only CM art, not when a CM is present (unless a CM has an important role in it besides just being present).
 
“both cutie marks”, on the other hand, is self-explanatory, nothing special there.
