Kind of wished Luna gotten some sort of mystical creature as a pet instead of a possum there..  
Really awkward due to how Celestia has a freaking phoenix for a pet.  
And the fact a possum is not going to have a pretty long life-span, especially given how natural alicorns live REALLY long, if not forever.

Pretty sure Philomena is still Celestia’s pet anyway.  
For some reason the writers forgot Philomena existed.  
They just never brought it up ever again.

How often do we ever see Philomena hanging around? The only time she was ever in a cage was when she was about to die and Celestia wanted to traumatize Fluttershy for some reason; from context it seems more like she’s in the “friend who hangs around sometimes” category than “dumb animal that needs constant care”.

It looks like in that picture Twilight is making him release Peewee there.
 
Its pretty much hypocrisy with that line there given how Celestia literally has a pet phoenix there.

If he couldn’t take care of it, she needs to realize that Spike won’t be able to if she doesn’t let him.  
Like.. freaking let him learn how to take care of a phoenix, give him a chance

Plus, didn’t Peewee’s family fly off after it was all said and done? And I think some bird species won’t accept an egg if it was removed and then put back. Eh, either way, it could have had a lot of narrative weight. A missed opportunity.

I feel like the writers’ wrote Peewee out just to satisfy those who were complaining on “he just kidnapped, he can’t keep him!” crap. Pretty sure they can justify Spike keeping him, like not being able to find Peewee’s parents or due to Peewee imprinting on Spike due to being the first thing the baby firebirb saw, Peewee wouldn’t leave Spike.

If only he got to keep PeeWee in the show.  
But instead they had Peewee go-away off-screen(with only just a photo showing it).  
It was just pretty dumb there..

Sorry to necro-bump, but I can’t let this pic go. I… I just fucking love this. For real, I love everything about it. I really, truly wish the show hadn’t written out Peewee less than half a season’s worth of episodes after the fact. He was the perfect analogue for Spike: a unique creature, raised by different creatures and learning their ways. Just look at the pic! Just look at it! Look at how Spike and Peewee are just kids being kids, reading comics and hanging out. Look at how sacred and concerned Spike is when Peewee has his first molt. Look at the concern on Peewee’s face when Spike is molting and in such discomfort. Look at how proud and happy Peewee is when Spike grows his wings. Look at the obvious affection in the middle where they’re both grown. Spike didn’t just need that, he deserved it.

I really wish Peewee would’ve stuck around; it would’ve been really awesome to see him grow along with Spike.

Peewee shoulda been in more episodes. Hell, a much more bigger role in Molt Down. I kinda thought he would help out Spike during that roc attack. What a wasted potiental.
