Well, Shrapnel was run over by Optimus Prime before Blitzwing misses Optimus Because the triple-changer flys away to save himself and also, in storyboards, a deleted scene also features Blitzwing pouncing on Optimus alongside Starscream, Skywarp and Astrotrain. The storyboards of the film would have featured Optimus breaking free from the four Decepticons before finding Megatron. But I eventually made up this scene of Optimus breaking free from the four Decepticons in my extended edition of the film.
