Exactly. Getting upset is only a natural reaction to it but you know that it’s needed. All the White Knighting is out of hand. I’ve moved on. End of story.
Then that is on her. She needs to learn to look at the criticism, interpret it correctly as ways to improve, and use it to fuel herself and her drive to create. There’s a difference between shitty criticism (“Your work is bad, you suck, stop trying.” etc. etc.) and negative, constructive criticism (such as what was discussed here.)
The gist of it is that the background was a terrible choice and causes strain on the eyes. A better, more suitable background would have been the American Flag if she wanted USA colors.

You need to learn that criticism is something that all artists are subject to, good or bad. Pointing out that the background is extremely difficult to look at, and is painful and straining on the eyes is proper criticism. You really need to learn when to white knight and when to not.
They’re not doing it to be rude. They’re just being honest. There’s lots of people who are sensitive to bright colors. Not everyone can tolerate that. Plus, I’m just reposting stuff onto here since it’s been awhile since I last posted.

hey cut her some slack she made on the 4 July, it looks fine to me.
That’s the whole problem, the background actually causes physical pain to look at.
The outfit doesn’t look too bad, but the background makes it hard to look at.
