Indeed, look at the ’90s Batman the Animated Series, Sonic the Hedgehog SatA.M., the original Looney Tunes, and such.  
G4/FIM will always have a fandom.
 
Heck, look how many G4 pics get uploaded here every day.

It is precisely THIS kind of attitude that will cause the fandom to die faster than anything.

You know, many series in media have long since passed and been succeeded by new and inferior installments, but the ones people love have never been forgotten.
 
There’s the high chance G5 will be a poor attempt to replicate G4, or it may be something different and unique, or it could be a preachy propaganda piece that flaunts MeToo, Empowerment and BLM like every other show in today’s age, nobody knows until it’s out.
 
You may think the last few seasons weren’t up to par, but many others see otherwise and are able to enjoy themselves without viewing everything through a cynical eye.
 
G4 will live on. Whether you choose to acknowledge that is completely up to you.

Final Fantasy 6 was released in the 90’s and I’m still enjoying it to this day, so that can also apply to MLP.

Sounds like who ever wrote this has already left the fandom. So what if G5 is coming, it doesn’t matter if it’s a hit or a flop, it doesn’t matter if more and more people gets bored of G4. There’s still nine whole seasons, a movie and a shit ton of fan-content thats possible to enjoy. Or do you just neeed constant reminders that MLP is still relevant, because if that’s the case then the fandom has been on a decline for a long time.

G4 isn’t going anywhere though. Just because G5 exists doesn’t make everything that’s happened just disappear. If G5 is bad, then it’s bad, and it can be ignored. If it’s good, then great, more pony content. But either way, it won’t devalue G4. It’s not like everyone will just suddenly drop it and completely forget about it just because something new and shiny appears.  
FiM is a nice complete package that’s been bookended on both sides forever. It will always be there to go back to and anjoy.

I’ll be interested in see all those warnings you’ll give to the fandom, is always necessary someone who remember the rest of the people how things could go and expect the worse, not because we are negative ones but for the facts in the table. But a little part of my hopes things will be better…
 

 
Yes, but at the same time people expect a series with the level of quality that FiM leave us. And how you said before, this new decade have a lot of limitations, because today n’ day anything can be polemic. Also, let’s face the fact that Lauren Faust was a brillant person who made an incredible perspective to the franchise with her incredible ideas. Try to replicate that, especially in a show for kids, is harder than it sounds.

Exactly! There have been things such as the Twilicorn, Faust leaving the show, and other issues that happened over the years, but I fear that G5 could become the biggest division of the fandom yet. The reason why G4 began so well was because it started in 2010, a time where various media still didn’t have to deal as much controversy. This year begins the new decade for a new generation of MLP. G4 changed so many people’s lives positively that it’s hard to believe that G5 could do the same. What else could it do besides being a complete reskin of FIM? In addition, there are new fans that have recently joined the fandom even as close as this year, most of them consisting of young or older teens. I was a young teen myself when I joined. G4 completely turned my life around when I’ve watched it from beginning to end. I feel like us old bronies could recommend them to watch FIM if G5 fails miserably, Just like how Twilight is the teacher to Luster Dawn. Even if the last couple of seasons are mediocre or bad, at least it will still give out the same positive message that had affected us for years. I honestly feel like we’re the only people who are giving out a possible warning for the whole fandom. If it were to turn out bad, not only would it effect us, but Hasbro too. This is the whole reason why I made art of 3 of the mane 6 (still need to do the rest as well as other characters) to see if fans will truly care and remember them even of G5 takes place. Comments do seem positive, which did relieve me for a bit.
 
Also, what do you mean by carbon copy for the 5° Generation? You mean the time when everyone thought that the mane 6 would be the main cast again but redesigned?

I think the same. People in the fandom forget that a new generation of My Little Pony will be something completely different; Sounds obvious, I know, but sometimes I have the sensation that people think we’ll get a carbon copy for the 5° Generation, when that won’t happen. How I said in one of my past commentaries, Pony Life was mediocre, and shows us a decay in the franquice, not to mention the last seasons of the main show, FiM. The fandom always had reasons to be divided, and the idea of a next generation that could change everything sounds intimidating if we consider all the past things happened here.

Most of the GOOD content creators, and artists are long gone anyway.

My reasons why are a bit different. I feel like it will truly die when G5 begins, despite there being no new info about it that have been yet to be seen. I still feel like G4 will become obsolete when it does come. Things like these existed because of G4. And I have a feeling like those won’t be as relevant. Or community sites like this could be reskinned just to fit in with the new gen. After all, it’s been a 10 year long run. Part of me says that it will kick G4 out of popularity. Another part of me is super nervous of how G5 will be, considering how downhill stuff had went for MLP and other franchises recently along with the possibility that it may divide the fandom in some way. Again, no solid news about G5 has came out yet, but it still has me worried and jump into conclusions. That’s why I sometimes say stuff like “G5 apocalypse” like a madman and maybe one of them G4 purists.

What a shame it’ll be impossible to go back and rewatch 9 whole seasons plus tons of extras after this year ends.
