Yeah ik but like CGI is the cheaper type and more lazily done bc the only hard part is getting the “models” done the rest is pretty straight forward bc of how automated technology is.(which yet again hasbro has done that trick where it just dublicates and recolours current pony models for other characters)

Having siblings in the main cast opens up for lots of episodes focusing on family. I honestly think FiM didn’t have enough of that!

The animation looks fluid, regarding the duo dynamic, its possible that they are related to each other as many already pointed out although it will be interesting to see how they will handle a romantic interest for the main character(not for just an episode).

BUT you get a better sense of how a 3d model would interact with an environment, they also allow for proper lighting, more refined walk cycles and it looks good from ANY angle. needless to say i am SUPER jazzed about g5 now that i know what to expect
 
plus they CAN’T use flash anymore because flash doesn’t exist anymore.

that’s exactly what Flash and toom boon was meant for being quicker And 2d is Not automatically Not automatically frame by frame.  
And a 3-D model takes much longer to make than a Flash puppet.  
And unless you massively cutting corners 3D is not cheaper than 2d

I general don’t like SFM MLP styles either(I do not like any type of 3D/CGi style mlp/models, even edited or from gmod.I find all them scary & cursed. Like honestly they give me nightmares.)

They were still hand-drawn(digitally) to/from flash/troom troom. They were not easily-done cheap 3D models which they can lazily rush into episodes unlike what all so-called “cartoons” do these days. But not only that they look rly rly scary.

Yes, it would be nice. To be honest, I have the slight impression that the other main characters may be Sunny, Izzy and Pipp’s siblings! This guy looks like Sunny’s brother and Zipp (that’s the name of the supposed other main character) seems to be Pipp’s sibling as well.

I’mma guess that they maybe had issues rendering a proper yellow coat (since yellow is a pain in 3d)´  
maybe they’ll look more distinct in the series ?  
crossing fingers, more green rep in the main cast is nice tho

I get a sense that he’s confident and a little bit of a showoff but not with a superior attitude. Kind of how guys flex to each other but don’t really mean it.

Weirdly enough, the male’s coat is yellow in the toys. I wonder why did they change it!

The two earth ponies coats are a really similar orange/tan oof

So, there are one of the important male characters mentioned in the leaked emails from December 2017! It’s interesting seeing that he actually became a main character un the final product.

Sunny is the one who was identified as the “activist” pony, so studiousness would make sense for her

Yeah, that was something that made G4 great. You could get a sense of the characters’ personality without them having to do much. Izzy seems kind of bubbly. The male character is a bit of a showoff but easygoing. Sunny is a little hard to read from this, but the other images suggest she’s studious like Twilight but much more outgoing.

The only thing I don’t like is that stallion’s design.

Honestly I was scared of the 3d in the first screenshot we got, but holy moly does this look good! I can’t wait! 💙

I have been here since year one and in my own opinion this style is looking good for a 3D animation. Yes i will miss the G4 style a lot and this will take getting used to but looking at some of the leaked G5 early concept art i will rather take THIS then what was proposed in some of those leaked images.  
And hey! We got a MALE in the MAIN cast!  
I just hope he will not be Rainbow Dash(personality) stand in of the groupe. He seems a bit narcissistic in this short animation but it may be just a random promotional material
