If the eyes were slightly closer and slightly larger, and the muzzles were just a bit more pronounced, it’d look perfect to me. Ironically enough, both of those changes would bring it closer to Imalou’s previous work, such as this beautiful piece:

Series can change a lot between seasons (Jake Long, Shimmer and Shine, Winx Club and the original Ben 10 series) and still are considered part of the same universe. G5 and G4 still are in the same universe, despite changes!

Sadly, the synopsis of the episode says that it’s still in Equestria, but many many years after Twilight’s reign ended, so it doesn’t really have any connection to G4 other than that it takes place in the same universe, and the old characters are a part of history, but that’s about it.

Hold up, so their cutie marks only appears on one side. Then G5 probably doesn’t happen in G4 continuity, it’s too big of a change in the characters appearances to be handwaved

I didn’t know about the cutie mark thing. It’s both hillarious and sad.

I think my biggest issues with these models is that the eyes are just, slightly too far apart. I feel like putting the eyes a little closer together would do SO much in making them look better for such a simple change!
 
The other thing that bothers me is that they made the cutie marks only appear on one side of the pony in order to make it more consistent with the actual toys. Now this is something that I remember seeing Imalou expressing her disappointment with on Twitter too, but I feel like this part in particular was a form of corporate meddling, as if it would kill the multi million dollar toy corporation to paint two cutie marks on the sides of their pony toys…
 
But otherwise everything looks pretty great, ESPECIALLY the Manes! My god those manes look so good.

imalou’s work does not translate well into 3d…

The art style for the g5 movie looked really similar to Imalou’s art style and I wondered if they had anything to do with the production, and turns out they actually do, so hey that explains it.

I propose we tag every single screencap and video of Sunny and Izzy with artist:Imalou.
