It doesn’t make them any good if their only characterizing trait is just being trans. But if the character has a deep story and goals, and is also trans, i don’t see it as a bad thing. It helps trans people to be more represented.
my point is, if you make a character from a male to a female, from female to male, to a trans to herm, that simple details doesnt make it better as a character. if in the show a character just talks about how good is to be green or blue or any color just because being of that color want make it good as a character.
the incest and foalcon examples are the delicate subject of fanart in the fandom, especially considering that this is a show aimed for children with so many adult and their content not for children (foalcon above all)
People are free to have their own headcanon about trans ponies.
I don’t think that this flag can be traumatizing in any way to a child, so i don’t get why you are making the example of incest et similar.
I dont see the solution removing that kind of stuff, and i’m not that much in the nazi thing, but about pride flags it sounds like someone is yelling at others
In any case, kids nowadays have access to the internet and by a simple search they can find all this, same thing with fan animation and stuff in youtube. i’m more worried about the foal thing and the incest, those themes are present how do you explain that to a kid? i dont want to be that person.
and about free speech, i’m gonna get so burned for this, but making a female character a trans character because reasons that are not in the show and that makes it a better character because that simple thing, doesnt feels right. and just by saying that i can get a ton of hate.
Infact these neogender themes are not proposed by hasbro in the show and are not meant for kids in the first place. Those are pictures made by people on the internet for the people on the internet, or just for themselves. Even if a kid would see this picture, without any context would just think that “this is the shadow of Rainbow Dash with a colored background”. So I don’t get your point.
What are you going to propose? To remove all the neogender symbologies from Derpibooru?
This summer was ok to not censor the nazi symbology because “free speech”, but neogender symbology is not free speech?

This is exactly what both side have always made since the dawn of time. Literally the right since gamergate.
In any case inventing neogenders are not so much different (and at least is more harmless), from inventing the alpha, beta, gamma, omega, etc… male subtypes that the incels groups (and the right) like so much. And yes, the alpha/beta model applied on human is not even supported by the scientist who invented it for wolfs in the first place (invented, not discorvered, because it is not actually really true neither for canis lupus).

It is true that behavior is well influenced by culture, in any case sociology is the one in charge of studying the living beings that make up a community, take this fandom as an example, it is a group within a larger group. It has its own characteristics but common to all fandoms.
I am not an extremist from any side, but my ability to reason makes me see that in these particular communities certain aspects stand out above others that are considered “normal” and I even feel that being “normal” is wrong in some circumstances. like i’m hetero but i dont show it with pride, is just a normal thing, just as other points of view, but once you grab your flag, no matter the the colors in there, you are standing for something, and people will react.
I could describe something simple but sincere about how I see things, but some other member of this community would quickly report me with the adminis and they would delete my comment, for not agreeing with certain fixed positions.
also this is a kid show, when i was young, i didnt care for if a pony was this or that, and you know what i mean, most of the people we are here are far from being little kids. but this themes are not quite yet for young people.

Gender IS a spectrum, is behavioural and highly influenced by the culture, and actually is a different thing from sex, which is what you have between your legs. I’m now asking you to read more on the subject.
The most important thing that I want you to mind now is the fact that most of those “made up genders” are often jokes made for the sole reason to trigger people. Or very often are things made by a single kid on twitter for the sole sake of making it, and you guys overreact too much.
Those are made up symbologies meant to troll a certain political side. In the same way the alt-right used the ok symbol in the past.
