It's actually the only warning you get in Phasmophobia that the ghost is beginning it's hunt. You have around eight seconds to hide, shut off whatever light sources you have, and stay silent as the the game "listens" to your audio. Hopefully you hid somewhere the ghost's AI doesn't know how to get to...
