Well, Ishi Rudell actually stated in his opinion, “Based on our EQG timeline it would after… when Movie Magic was written, the idea was to remove Starlight Glimmer from the MLP universe to explain why she wasn’t around during the time of the My Little Pony Movie. And Rollercoaster of Friendship happened after that. Therefore…🤔.” However, this seems untrue. And the truth is that Starlight Glimmer did appear in the movie. No matter how many early drafts of the film there are since the movie was announced in October 20, 2014. Also, Movie Magic and Mirror Magic took place before season seven because in Mirror Magic, Sunset Shimmer says that Starlight Glimmer is Twilight Sparkle’s student before graduating in the season seven premiere, “Celestial Advice”. And even though the final five episodes of season seven aired after the movie, the movie actually took place after season seven but before season eight. And the season eight premiere two-parter, “School Daze”, aired on March 24, 2018 and picked up right where the movie left off.

I’m saying they could have taken place anywhere in the timeline you mentioned as they do not offer anything to confirm where they are set relative to FIM. As such where they are in it is unimportant and could be set wherever you think works best.
@Background Pony #38C4
Ishi Rudell’s statment was based on “Mirror Magic” being set simultaneously with The Movie This is contradicted by “Forgotten Friendship” being set a year after MM but it is still before the Movie as the throne room hasn’t been renovated yet. It sound like they weren’t outright stating “Rollercoaster” was after the movie, but speculating. Given the contradicting evidence…

@Incursor
Wait. You mean that the final seven episodes of season two, CYOE season two took place between the first and second halves of season eight or during season eight while Holidays Unwrapped took place before, during, or after Best Gift Ever?

@Background Pony #38C4
That 9 EG months took place over what Jim Miller stated was a week or two in Equestria seems contradictory to that EG time must be slower to explain the lack of age gap between Twilight and Sunset.
If the official statements conflict, I’m going to dismiss Ishi’s as the other one has actual in-work evidence. If both are taken as true than there is no consistent passage of time or actual timeline meaning this analysis/debate is pointless.
As for the the final seven episodes of season two, of Better Together, CYOE season two. And Holidays Unwrapped they do not crossover with FIM in any capacity so they can take place any time. I would say we can guess their placement by comparing the passage of time from points FIM and EG cross over to determine the rate time passes relative to FIM. But if there is no constancy…

@Incursor
Well, you were right. Because according to Ishi Rudell, Rollercoaster of Friendship does takes place after the movie. Also according to Katrina Hadley, Spring Breakdown does takes place between My Little Pony The Movie and season eight of Friendship is Magic; since Princess Twilight Sparkle mentions the events of the film, the School of Friendship is not shown, and the crew did not know Spike was getting wings at the time of production because Spike doesn’t have wings yet until the season eight episode “Molt Down”. And also, According to the Sunset’s Backstage Pass page from Tv Tropes, Sunset’s Backstage Pass tools place between Camping Must-Haves and Fesitval Filters or maybe it was between Run to Break Free or Find the Magic and Camping Must-Haves since the special shows the Rainbooms arriving at the Fesitval and the whole Groundhog Day Time Loop focuses only on “Day 1”, all the Better Together digital series web episodes (including the first seven episodes of CYOE season two) set at the festival itself are chronologically happening afterward, despite several having been released first. So it would make since that the final fifteen episodes of season one of Better Together, Rollercoaster of Friendship, the first thirteen episodes of season two of Better Together, Spring Breakdown, I’m on a Yacht, Run to Break Free, Camping Must-Haves, Find the Magic, and Sunset’s Backstage Pass were set between the movie and season eight of the Friendship Is Magic cartoon. And where does the final seven episodes of season two of Better Together, and CYOE season two took place? before season eight or during or after season eight? And where does Holidays Unwrapped took place? Does it took place during and/or after Best Gift Ever?

Said Fictional Chronology currently lists Rollercoaster of Friendship as after The Movie despite ROF being in summer and Spring Breakdown thus being around 9 months afterward, seemingly far to long for how shortly after The Movie SB is.
The chronology there is possible, but it’s also, unless evidence for the placement is given, just best guessing as opposed to anything definite or official. You can assume any placement you want as long as it doesn’t contradict anything.

@Incursor
Well, according to the Fictional Chronology page from the MLP Wikia, I think it seems possibly correct that Sunset’s Backstage Pass is set before season eight and is seemed possible that the last fifteen episodes of season one of Better Together, Rollercoaster of Friendship, Better Together season two, Spring Breakdown, Sunset’s Backstage Pass, and CYOE season two is possibly set between the movie and season eight.

@Background Pony #38C4
I mean it could be set between 8 and 9. It unlike Spring Breakdown does have any clear indicators of when in FIM it’s set.
Does the Fictional Chronology page state how that was derived? It could have been put there as a general guess as it was too important to leave off.

I don’t know. Is it possibly true that the rest of the spin-off series from X Marks The Spot to Do It For the Ponygram! set between the movie and season eight while Holidays Unwrapped is set during or after Best Gift Ever?
Background Pony #38C4
@Incursor
Well, Best Gift Ever is set between seasons eight and nine. But if Spring Breakdown is release between seasons eight and season nine and set after season seven, Forgotten Friendship, the movie, and Rollercoaster of Friendship but before season eight, Best Gift Ever, and season nine is it possibly true that Sunset’s Backstage Pass is set during season nine despite its release between the first and second halves of season nine?
Incursor

@Background Pony #38C4
@I do not believe there was any indication where in the series timeline it’s set other than before the S9 finale. “Spring Breakdown” was set between S7 and S8 but aired between S8 and S9, so it’s possible “Backstage Pass” is set before S9.
Background Pony #38C4
@Incursor
Yeah. But is Sunset’s Backstage Pass set during season nine and set between the first and second half of season nine?
Incursor

@Background Pony #38C4
“Backstage Pass” was after “Spring Breakdown” which was between The Movie and Season 8, but before the Season 9 finale as Twilight hadn’t moved to Canterlot yet.
“Holidays Unwrapped” was after that as it references “Spring Breakdown” and “Backstage Pass”, but has no indication where it is relative to FIM.
Background Pony #38C4
@Incursor
When did Sunset’s Backstage Pass takes place? Is Sunset’s Backstage Pass set between the first and second half of season nine and set after Rainbow Roadtrip? And when did Holiday Unwrapped took place?
Background Pony #40F0
@Incursor
Well, are both Rainbow Roadtrip and Sunset’s Backstage Pass set between the the first and second half of season nine while Holidays Unwrapped and the March Radness comic set during the ninth season? Heck, even the FIM comic Issue #82 was released and set before the G4 franchise’s finale while Issues #83-88 were realsed after the cartoon had ended but set before the finale and during season nine. Even the season 10 comics serves as a bridge between the finale along with Friendship is Forever clip shows and the distant future epilogue to the G4 franchise seen in “The Last Problem”.

Right before/after can be close enough to be considered part of a season.

Starlight’s confident character in “Mirror Magic” only makes sense if it happened after the season 6 finale, but the events of season 7 give her cause to worry contradicting her “Mirror” character, so between s6 and s7 (at odds with the presumed short window that occupies given they have yet to celebrate the s6 finale) or early s7 (before “Royal Problem” hit her with the worry stick) is the only plausible placement.

I like the rest, but would appreciate it if evidence was given for “Backstage Pass” and “Unwrapped” taking place when they do.
