I just ate bacon yesterday :D
:D
I luv it
@Background Pony #9ED2
The cheeks are full of bacon, and the eyes are glowing red from the camera XD
I luv the way you make the bacon look like it’s stuffed into her mouth. Muy divertido!!
I reverse searched the image, but I’m not sure if it’s actually yours…
That’s my pony form you dummy
That looks suspiciously like Celestia from another dimension…
I like bacon too. why not draw me stealing bacon???? here’s my pony form, just to show you:
It’s not that the comic was talking about racism (and it actually wasn’t, see what I say to Wayneponeth below), but that it was way too preachy and heavy handed. Like, a good half of that comic is literally just characters lecturing the viewer directly; take out the preaching and there’s literally nothing to it :P
@Wayneponeth
Yeah, unfortunately. A big problem with that issue was how it wants to portray the ponies as in the wrong for suspecting a dragon culprit, but all the evidence points to a dragon culprit. Like the origins of the fires matching what a dragon’s breath would look like, and all the fires happening in areas where the dragons lived. Believing a dragon is behind it is pretty reasonable, the same way it would have been to presume a pony was responsible if they found hoofprints at ever scene of a crime. So then it ends where it turns out there just happens to be this super rare never-before-heard-of “fire snail” that just happens to start fires that just happen to match dragon breath that just happened to wander into town that was the real culprit. Not to mention how the comic tried to depict dragons as only being good when they lived with and acted like ponies, which just undermines the entire point he was trying to make with the story :P
Oh right, I legit forgot, sorry about that. Still though, that episode is also about teaching both sides to tolerate and share with each other. Ponies are not the only problems in that episode. Even though that episode is pretty weird, everything resolved over a pie and stuff.
I honestly don’t know what point you’re trying to make here though. If you think ponies are racist and don’t like them, why are you here?
If you don’t remember or know the Buffalo there’s nothing to discuss. You only know what the fandom talks about.
That’s not an argument. That’s pointing out how an episode plays out. Bridle Gossip is also about how the ponies learn to not judge others based on appearances. I don’t know what Native American wars thing you’re talking about but both instances you pointed out are more about ponies learning not to be racist rather than ponies being racist.
Seriously? That’s your argument? If expelling zebra outsiders and allusions to Native American wars is your idea of harmonious and inclusive then yes. Ponies are not racist to ponies.
Oh and Cozy Glow doesn’t count.
He sounds so defensive about his work like he’s a fan defending his fanfiction and not an official writer. :P
But yeah, that’s the problem with things like this. It can be done right sometimes but most of the time people would be so caught up on their own messages they forget about other messages, becoming quite a hypocrite in the process.
@Background Pony #4982
Hearths Warming Eve is a season 2 episode and the point of it is about ponies overcoming their prejudices. It is more about how the entire pony race became more harmonious and inclusive, not that ponies are racist.
But… ponies ARE racist. Its been part of the show since season 1’s Hearths Warming Eve.
I get what you and Wayneponeth are saying, but you guys are pointing at molehills that have been there from the very beginning.
Lol yeah. Though, in the defense of the comics as a whole, that one comic is universally disliked by pretty much everyone, even die-hard fans of the comics, so it’s safe to assume it’s an outlier in how bad it is. The sad thing too about that comic is it’s actually a good setup for a story. Bad things are happening, two groups each feel they’re being wronged by the other, and they’re just coming to a head over it. If it hadn’t tried to be so preachy it could have been a really solid character-based story :D
Keep in mind it’s super old news at this point but, well, there’s a pretty scathing article ripping it apart so if you dare :P
Edited
Holy… that’s a thing? I never read any of the comics and this isn’t encouraging me to do so.
Personally too, like I hate preachiness. Even when I 100% agree with what’s being preached, I can’t stand it. It’s what turned me off of the IDW comics. The first one I read is this uncomfortably preachy comic about a bunch of dragons that live in a ghetto in a pony town, and because it’s trying so hard to be about racism the ponies are somehow wrong for believing the one responsible for some arson is a dragon because they have hard evidence to suggest a dragon culprit and the dragons are refusing to talk to the ponies about it. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the worst comic I’ve ever read, period :P
