Anything that’s modern and trendy is always met with disdain. Especially since FiM was contemporary and didn’t include technology.
Already there’s whining. This fandom never changes. Anything new or different is instantly bad…
Purist fandoms in a nutshell pretty much. It’s happened for Star Wars, Spyro, a thousand other franchises I will not list down, and now this.
I agree that this has to stop. But sadly we can’t change human nature. I just hope it’s only a phase they’ll get out of. By the way, didn’t the show go over this with Stranger that Fanfiction?

I hope it’s a bit of both. I mean he doesn’t need to be Fluttershy level shy but a bit of introvert personality would be nice. We don’t have many shy male characters after all.

That’s the thing. We don’t need that superfluous garbage anymore and it’s a good thing G5 made it more redundant and useless than it already was because as you said the real Equestria is now technologically advanced enough for phones and Internet since they wanted a contemporary setting that bad they had to shoehorn one at all costs on the otherwise fairy tale setting of G4. Plus I’m pretty sure Hitch is their new attempt at a love interest, except you know Hitch is a pony that is introduced EARLY as part of the life of the main mares character and is not some alternate dimension clone doppelganger or whatever that shit was
I know it probably has nothing to do with the movie, but I can’t help but wonder what the human world is like on g5 mlp, considering that in FIM they already had phones and other modern technologies…
What’s funny is that Zipp, Pipp, and Sunny’s poses are recycled from other prev. released promo material, but Hitch and Izzy’s goofing around is animated (check original FB post) and is brand-new. Nice budget-shaving, Hasbro ;)
Expect a trailer either later today or in three weeks. The Netflix rule: release a movie/TV series trailer a month before its actual release.

Yeah I know. It’s more of a personal thing really. I wasn’t trying to be too serious it. I guess the word selfie is somehow to many intrinsically cringy. I don’t exactly know why. I don’t even know enough about celebrity culture to love or hate it.
Going on a more serious note, it will be interesting to see how social media will play a part in the show. What with rumors, arguments and all that stuff. Especially nowadays it’s more relevant than ever.
Maybe a theme will also be how every pony and their pony race should be proud of their own selves and proud of those not like you. And that’s a good message. To have people express themselves for who they truly are.
