Agreed—heck, Ivory Cedar even has a character tag on this site, and he’s referred to as that on Personality Database (not to mention at least one video that has over 50k views), so it’s definitely spread for him by this point. “Mauve Sashay” sounds like some sort of drag show name.

G5 has definitely changed the conventions. For one, we have surnames now. How would that work with the naming conventions? Should we just do what the Sioux do?

TBF even during g4 both the staff and the fans weren’t super consistent with the naming methodology either. Sometimes it lined up like with “Carrot Top,” but most of the time it was finding the best-sounding combination of cutie mark/appearance-adjective or vice versa.

Not sure the g4 naming methodology still fails in line with the g5 approach. They all feel way off compared to the actual addressed character names
