Could you please put in the description what it says? Are you aware that most of your audience is English speaking only and can’t understand that? It irks me when artists who primarily make things in English make something in a foreign language and don’t translate it. Yeah, I know 1 of the commenters did, but that’s less optimal, and that should’ve been done by the creator.

It still has a purpose in historical spelling. Spanish has started to get rid of its historical spellings, but has not entirely finished its, though French seems to be at least a little bit more reluctant.

For some words, there’s still a distinction between those who start with a silent H and those who start with an aspirated H (which has an etymological basis, the former mainly applying to Latin words and the latter to Germanic words), but in modern French neither is actually pronounced and the only relevance they still have pertains to liaison and elision rules between words (for example, the H of “harmonie” is silent while that of “harpe” is aspirated; therefore, if you precede those two words with a definite article — in that case “la”, since they’re both feminine nouns — you get “l’harmonie” on one hand and “la harpe” on the other).

If you want a purely ornamental letter though, look at how many words in the French language end with a silent E!

Yep, the “ch-” spelling is the default one in French (I’m pretty sure all the instances of “sh-” we have come from foreign loanwords).

It was funny, because the guy I asked was like “You’d just say “chuis” but was also like “I have no idea how it’s spelled, I’ve always just wrote ‘Je suis’.” He assumed it was chuis rather than shuis since apparently sh words aren’t nearly as common as ch words in French XD

Probably because it’s a transcription of a spoken idiom that can only ever be found in colloquial dialogue (as opposed to “proper French”).
A similar English example would be “what are you”, which is sometimes contracted as “wotcher”.
Another actually translatable example: where an English speaker would say “I dunno”, it would be “Chaipas” (contraction of “Je ne sais pas”) for a French one.

“Chuis” is a colloquial phonetic contraction of “j’suis”, which itself is (also in spoken colloquial) the elision of “je suis”, meaning “I am”.
