I think most of you are overreacting to there being a fart at all. The real problem here is that we’re seeing a nasty depiction of flammable gas that logically should be burned up by the magic fire, and the villain wants to huff said magic fire to become more powerful (and said magic fire can be jarred).
That’s right, the actual plot of MYM and TYT so far is that the villain wants jarred baby farts to huff to become powerful.

G4 MLP FiM, Season 2 Episode 13 Baby Cakes
The babies were running around after getting their diapers dirty, with a visualized smell, which bothered Pinkie Pie.
Nothing happened.
G5 shows something similar on screen, and bronies complain.
That added to the fact that in G4 there were some chapters with burps and nobody complained.
Now they are going to tell me that burps are less disgusting than a fart?

But seriously, they make a lot of drama for this; here the bad thing would be if this was frequent, when of the 31 shorts that came out they have only used it 2 times and that of Cloudpuff almost nobody complained, what happens is that much of the fandom hates Sparky, that’s why the criticism.
