A2. Well not all monsters are up to no good. Ponyvile is a place where all are welcome, only if they are friendly and won’t harm anyone. Gum Heart is one of the types of goo pony known as healers, not too rare to come across in the goo forest. And she has plenty of experience with helping non-pony with her magic. (Short answer, she showed the ponies what her healing can do, and some were a bit nervous at the way she healed her patients, but they cannot deny how good the heals are for ponies. So they let her become a doctor.)
