Going by the source, it is supposed to be a cookie, yes. People just tend to assume luna eating something vaguely moon-pie-shaped must be a moon pie.

I’m sorry, but that isn’t a Moonpie. Chocolate Moonpies have their marshmallow centeres covered by the chocolate coating. (I should know, I’m from the Chattanooga area of Tennessee, we invented them.)

That, plus the milk right beside her, leads me to believe that instead, this is a giant Oreo cookie.

I’ve added the Oreo tag, but I’m not removing the Moon Pie tag yet in case everyone thinks I’m an idiot.

Oh, and I’ve also added Weapons-Grade Cute and Lunabetes, for obvious reasons.
