I’m sorry, but how would you define human nature then, because they seem plenty ‘human’ in the show. Ponies are perfectly capable of being mean and nasty, egotistical, racist, self-centered, etc. as any human. The only reason we don’t have any high level violence or death when the major villains are around is because it’s a KIDS SHOW, and they’re not gonna do that sort of stuff.

The ponies in the show are just funny shaped humans. The idea that Equestria is this perfect utopia because ponies are so much better than us is just silly misanthropic nonsense.

Some of those scenes are really, really well done, but it’s such a forced storytelling device that yeah, I can agree with all of that.

“Courier: What the Hell is that?”  
“Arcade: I have no idea.”  
“Courier: Should I…?”  
“Arcade: Yeah, sure. Stick your head in something you never saw before nor know what it does in a place you never been in before, I’m sure nothing bad will happen.”  
“Courier: [Intelligence 3] Well, if you say so…”

That’s cause the backstory is WAY overbuilt. When you overbuild a story’s backstory people start noticing the plotholes with it. The premise is terrible cause the entire FoE fanfic universe is so ungodly overbuilt that some of the plotholes are so big that optimus prime could drive through them.
 
Personally I wish people that write FoE fanfics would axe memory orbs cause they’ve been abused to death and have turned into a trope.  
Hey kids want to explain the plot conflict? Use a memory orb.  
Want to explain a villain’s reasons? Use a memory orb.  
Want to explain why the world’s a post-apopcalypse? Use a memory orb.
 
I think that’s one of the reasons why people like/d Murky Number Seven, Pink Eyes, and Heroes so much is cause they didn’t abuse this trope.
 
I like the original and project horizons a lot, but every time a memory orb scene pops up I skip it.

You know, for as much as I like the fics themselves, the premise and backstory is kind of terrible and makes no sense. Ponies do not possess human nature.

The Zebras would still be fanatics and Fluttershy would still be an idiot who tells them how to make magic nukes, so I don’t see how it would change much.

The zebras’ stupidity would still be there though.
