I use Scute Mob in my mono-green Molimo, Maro-Sorcerer EDH. The entire strategy is to ramp like crazy, and then use spells like Blanchwood Armor and Primal Bellow to swing for 21+ general damage in one turn.

Not really. You’ve got to get up to five lands before it’s a threat, and even then there’s still a one-turn delay where anything can kill it. It can grow out of control, but only if allowed to.
