I was actually one of those people who never minded that it was called a a show for little girls. Because when you think about it, Lauren respected girls’ intelligence enough to make the show complex and mature, so it’s not an insult to say it’s “for girls.” They’re capable of handling stuff like this just like the boys are. We as a society underestimate the female gender a bit too much, and the irony is that this is the very show that was trying to do away with those kinds of stereotypes.

Or, episodes that focus on only ONE of the Six, interacting with others in Equestria. I’m starting to believe that none of them have pony friends that aren’t other members of the Six.

Here’s a thought. Having episodes that don’t actually feature any of the mane six! Just the rest of the cast of ponyville having slice of life times while the mane six are blazing the banner of friendship abroad.
 
The Round Tree seems very much open to the public and with the idea that she’s the Princess of Magic aka Friendship, maybe next season will be about other ponies sharing their friendship-related exploits and whatnot.

Sorry about that. Too many folk back in the season one and two days tried to protect their manhoods by fervently and delusion ally denying that the target audience was anyone but Bronies. So I had a knee jerk.

As cool as that sequence may be, it’s still not representative of the meat of the show. The main reason people outside the target demographic are drawn to it is because of the well-written characters and their relationships, not because of the action sequences. To imply otherwise comes across as disingenuous and insecure.
 
It’s a slice-of-life show at its heart, and we needn’t be ashamed of enjoying it for what it is.
