I have no problem with a villain being a bad seed from the very beginning and would honestly love Tirek all the more if he was simply a power-hungry conqueror from the start.
Some would say, your family should come first, no matter what they are.
He threw all three princesses into Tartarus,
He manipulated and drained Discord,
He hurt Derpy,
He blew up the library AND,
He made Fluttershy Cry. (OK that was Discord but still)

Tyrant Sparkle, Tyrantlestia, Lutyrant, and Tyrantdance are the real villains.
He stole all teh magic from Equestria, tryied to take over the land twice, he betrayed Discord, destroyed Twilight’s house and imprisoned Celestia, Luna and Cadance.
Diamond Tiara is more “misunderstood” than he his!
