Most of English’s issues stem from the fact that it’s basically a tossed salad comprised of elements from numerous other languages.

Just curious (and probably a stupid question), what is your first language?
Well I bet all languages have some challenging aspects, English being that there seem to be more exceptions than rules and just an overall confusing nature. (for example, I have no idea if I was supposed to use “than” or “then” just now)

I’m referring to us Americans in general. And English is my first language.
Trust me, I’m not. It’s just that the grammar reminds me of a troll fic I once read that had a similar situation with similar grammar.

To be honest, I blindingly hate English and try to learn Japanese for these reasons. :j
It’s possible he uses “we” because he speaks English, but not as a first language. However, if native speakers are confused by it, that could be evidence in and of itself.
If you’re using “we” in the way I think you are, the question isn’t meant for you. However, I’ll agree. :)
Considering we come up with new words and change the meanings of old ones all the time, damn skippy it’s hard.
It certainly is, I assure you, especially when you speak spanish as your mother language.
