Seeing how Twilight showed in S01E03 that she doesn’t want rewards that leave her friends feeling left out, it’d probably end either with Twilight abdicating or the rest of the Mane Six becoming alicorn princesses as well.
@Taggy
>I’m sorry, but when did Twilight get credit for her friends’ accomplishments?
All the stuff “she” did was done as a group; the Elements of Harmony act as a collective. Unless you think being coronated was just for finishing that one spell.
>When was it stated that they were living on her shadow?
She’s the only one who gets any recognition for her accomplishments. They didn’t get seats on the Friendship Counsel because of their own accomplishments; they got them for being friends with Twilicorn, Princess of Friendship.
>And just because the others weren’t turned into alicorns doesn’t mean they are less important. They all have a life on their own,
Oh, and Twilight didn’t?
>so I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t like it if Celestia turned them into alicorns and announced that they would be princesses from then on.
That didn’t stop Celestia from doing it to Twilight with no consent, or even warning.
I’m sorry, but when did Twilight get credit for her friends’ accomplishments? When was it stated that they were living on her shadow? From what I remember from the season, Twilight wasn’t much different from when she was a unicorn. I don’t remember her using her status as princess to do anything on her favor or solve other’s problems.
And just because the others weren’t turned into alicorns doesn’t mean they are less important. They all have a life on their own, so I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t like it if Celestia turned them into alicorns and announced that they would be princesses from then on.
@MagnificentTrixie
Hey, they don’t get NOTHING. They get to be on a counsel as “Friends of Princess Twilight”. Not as multiple-time saviors of Equestria, or for any of their multitudinous individual achievements of merit, of course, but just because they happen to be friends with a princess.
I guess “sidekicks” is better than nothing, amirite?
That’s the real problem I think everyone has with all of this… It’s not that Twilight became an alicorn, it’s that her friends didn’t get ANYTHING. I thought they were inseparable equals, not sidekicks to Perfect Princess Pony. It hurts the premise of the show. Her friends are no less accomplished… It really isn’t fair and it defies my suspension of disbelief that they are portrayed as not bitter or resentful, even if it would just be a little bit.
Applejack still struggles with her farm, Rarity has yet to really hit it big and become a breakout designer, and Rainbow Dash isn’t even an official Wonderbolt yet, even after all this time.
@Blissey1
There’s actually an AU where Celestia took Rainbow as a student because she happened to be in Cloudsdale at the time. The major difference between that Twilight and the canon Twilight is that Dashverse Twilight actually has self control.
I know that feeling
Don’t see anything saying she can’t ;)
Finally somebody replies to me! :D
Are either of those options even possible? Can a Princess just straight up quit her job?
I knew it was Red Herring!
>implying it ever went away

>Spike and other girls
That’s some… interesting phrasing.
Then again, has Spike ever been sexed? I’m reminded of a certain fanfic…

Luna: hypnotizes them
Celestia: “Now what were you saying, my beloved subjects?”
Applejack: “W-We just dropped by to tell ya… how grateful we are ta be yer instruments, Your Majesty…” bows
Rarity: “Yes, instruments that are useless without Your guidance…”
Spike and other girls bow
Celestia: “You’re all welcome.”
They already spoke out once, then Twilight hit them all with her mind control rays.
yeah, I read that fic. It was pretty good, but I just couldn’t get into the sequel or some reason.
