Hmm, it looks like you are correct, which would result in a ridiculously high number for the face off. However, having no cards in your deck is not an automatic loss, and after the face off has resolved, you would return the cards to your deck.

Um… that ability doesn’t seem to be optional. If both players have two Hummingways and there’s a one-card disparity, I think they’d be required to flip their whole decks.
