There was-and still is-A LOT of scrutiny towards homosexuality, I’m not gay myself, but I believe someone should be allowed to love whoever they want, AND NOT be ostracized or alienated for something… unorthodox.

Marriage itself isn’t something that was ever invented or defined by government. Their role has always been to recognize and protect what is already there, which is appropriate. Now, they’ve decided that activist judges, and not the people, can say what is or is not marriage. The argument has for many years now revolved around the legal perks that come with the government’s recognition of marriage, and those perks are privileges, not basic rights.
Okay. What rights, further to those enjoyed by heterosexual people are being given? Are heterosexual people not also now free to marry someone of the same sex? That is your logic in saying “gay people had the same rights already”, after all.
