It is depressing, but nothing new. The Supreme Court clearly doesn’t respect the Constitution, and that’s been the case for quite a while.

Well, it seems that today, on June 26, 2015, the US Supreme Court just ruled that gay marriage bans are unconstitutional. Which means that we now officially have nationwide legal gay marriage.

That’s why I stay in the middle of the road: don’t really hate them but totally don’t support them or their ideas.

As much as I don’t like homosexual people for mostly being assholes, I also disagree with homophobic people. Let them love whoever they want to love and fuck whoever they want to fuck.

Agreeing or disagreeing with the statements on the image aren’t the problem, as long as the site’s rules are followed. I never saw the deleted comments, but I’m guessing they were in violation of those rules.
 
I upvoted the image, and provided my own reasons for doing so earlier.

Marriage always was a legal institution, that’s the whole point it is. People wanting society at large to recognize and give protection and sanctions for their rights and obligations as a couple. You can live with someone without all that, you just don’t get any protection from the state for it.  
Even the reason behind the current conflict is that while gay couples can get together, they want the state to recognize this status too, they want that legal protection. (eg. make it possible for the spouse to inherit after them, etc.)  
And hasn’t it occured to you that it is primarily the church that opposes gay marriage?

There would probably be some benefit to that, but the problem I see is that marriage has always been intrinsically linked to family-building, not just declarations of eternal devotion. I think the state must have a way to recognize the family. Although it should be acknowledged that governments are essentially impotent at instilling the values that keep a family stable, it is nonetheless important that families have a clearly defined set of intrinsic rights and responsibilities, especially when it comes to children and adoption.
