Not only that but it’s a diplomatic situation between an entire race of asshole elves deer and a corperation. If this were earth and humanity’s politics, and the government aka princess celestia, luna, pretty much most princesses [This is assuming that the vines probably went to the crystal empire too] are involved, I’m pretty sure the minotaur would be considered trying to strain tensions between races/countries and would be told to knock that shit out.

I wouldn’t doubt that, but let’s say that Equestria would at worse apprehend and put him on trial for something like that.
 
I’m also sure that if she was accompanied by two royal guards, the whole situation of throwing her out would have played Very differently than what we’ve seen, plus, there’s absolutely no reason at all why royal guards shouldn’t be by her side. She’s on an important task here handed over by Celestia, not to mention this is also a situation dealing with law enforcement more than anything, not to mention, especially that the last comic should have had some guards accompanying her for protection and maybe even some guidance from their personal experience with Princess Celestia, because from what I’m seeing here, I don’t think that she understands her position at all or the law all too well.

if we’re bringing this kind of logic into it, I just can’t understand how the Everfree forest wasn’t prohibited from being worked upon. Seems to me like if that was the case, it would be a pretty big violation of capital law, wouldn’t it? especially when considering just how much trouble rose from it.

Slightly different situation that last time. The cattle rustlers were robbers who didn’t even try to keep up a legal façade. Robbing people in broad dayligh, burning down buildings and assaulting ponies (including the local law enforcement officers). Using non-lethal magic to arrest criminals sound perfectly legit which made Twilight’s behavior rather baffling.
 
This guy, however, seems to be a legitimate business men despite his total lack of empathy. Just using magic to force him to stop seems like an abuse of power. There might be better solutions without resorting to violence. Why not try to offer that guy another location to build his park? Or Make a new law that forbids people to cut trees from the forest? Start a public campaign? Declare the whole forest as an important historical site? There should be plenty of non-violent and legal ways to solve this issue without Twilight blowing up stuff with magic.

The “legal citizen” line again? Seriously, all sentient species have to abide by the law. If Twilight can’t in some form uphold said law than that means the writers don’t know their behind from a hole in the ground.
