Gilda’s just a big softie underneath. You know it, I know it, Pinkie knows it.

I wish they did more episodes about background ponies that aren’t just 100th episode specials.
how the fuck is that fan service?
You know, Rarity’s the type of pony who would do that. Remember the first gala episode. She wouldn’t let Spike in because they weren’t dressed.
@I don’t know…
First off, this isn’t the first show to do this. Second, variety is always good in a show. Third, no doubt said little girls are going to enjoy it anyways. Some of them have grown up with the show and probably recognize some of the background ponies well enough.
I see your point… It’s just weird seeing Hasbro (obviously) fan-pander to bronies instead of little girls and actually trying to make a show not 100% focused on selling toys.
And what, pray tell, is so bad about giving fans what they like to see that makes people whine about it? The writers just can’t win, can they?
“This season has the 100th episode, which is sufficiently awesome and focused on characters that have been on the show for a while, but mainly in the background. Coco Pommel returns for one!”
2 Words… BACKGROUND PONIES
Need I say more?
Neither do I, really
What fan pandering? A little fourth wall humor? Bringing back Gilda to help with a moral?
Even if fans do enjoy those things, I don’t see what’s wrong with any of that.
It looked like it was going to be, until it became, “Get someone laid and you make an instant friend.”
Wasn’t that also the moral in A Friend in Deed?
Pinkie: “I won’t!”
Pinkie: “That’s the Bronies job!”
Ponies don’t know what it’s like, what with their cushy little towns full of friendship. You weren’t there, man.
HubDiscovery Kids, it is possible to be friends with someone who is also friends with someone you despise. You don’t have to like everyone. I thought that was the lesson of the first appearance of Gilda, and while I’m glad that Gilda gets a redemption, I feel like this bit undermined that moral.
