Well, from Sunset’s perspective, all she was doing was running away from facing Madoka’s death or her duty, that she COULD save Madoka if she stopped treating her like a doll.
I also had an idea that this takes place post-Rebellion in some capacity, where you could REALLY argue Homura ran away from accepting what Madoka did, and that Sunset is filled with disgust for how badly she treated Madoka in Rebellion.
But she did the complete opposite of that. Arguably she tried way too freaking much.
