So far as I know, Babs’s wolf outfit is (almost) straight from the show, during the Bad Seed musical number while she’s chasing the Crusaders around – they hide in a dress rack and she scares them with a similar outfit.
Not really… that’s just a modern “it would be cool if they fought!!” thing like pirates vs. ninjas, supported by most authors going out of their way to make them opposites of one another (like say, werewolves are savage & vampires are elegant, when in the older legends, vampires are savage beasts too.)
Really, they’re just competing versions of the same basic legend: infection turns people into monsters, they go bite / eat other people to infect them too, et al.

But vampires and werewolves hate each other. Hell, I could imagine making a film about vampires and werewolves killing each other in a spaceship in the future… I wonder how much money I would make a fit like that?
