It depends on how far the joke goes. We also have to remember that Luna lost herself and almost killed her sister. That’s more extreme than just drawing Celestia fat as a joke.

I tend to separate fanbase/theory/opinion from my enjoyment of the show. I guess that’s why it didn’t even came to my head that there was celestia hate tag word by word. For me this image was more “it’s just a prank bro” than straight out “HA HA, take that stupid Celestia!”.

Well because of such fans it’s actually turned me away from really even liking Princess Luna that much.
At one point she might have become my favorite, but for how much so many fans put her a pedestal by the fandom while Celestia was villainized, mocked, criticized, turned into a troll, and really hated by least a few turned me from such.
As such, that ship has sailed when it comes to fully enjoying the sort of character that Luna is or could be. Especially if the writers continue doing nothing with Celestia and fans treat her so unfairly.

There’s a difference between having a “Luna Hate” tag and “Luna Abuse”, the point being made is that Celestia has a Hate tag and Luna does not.

Yeah that’s something that bugged me too. Also, props to you for your civil reply, it’s dumb how much flack some people get for having criticisms of the show.
Anyway, might take my leave from this whole chain of comments, I think i’ve derailed it enough.
I like Celestia, but if you’re a sibling, you’ll know that Luna’s just being a little syay, like all siblings are to each other. We don’t hate each other, we just love to dick with each other like this, since we know we have each other’s back when things go south.

I still enjoy the show, but I worry about this repetitive redemption thing the show has going on. Villain redemption will get repetitive. Still, I don’t expect this show to stay good forever. Not very many shows stay good or interesting this long, and most are ended before they have a chance to grow stale.
Besides, ever considered that maybe the artist likes Celestia? And this is just them going “haha this would be a funny picture”. There’s an artist called dilarus who loves Fluttershy, but constantly draws her being mocked and abused for comedy.
I get that this kind of thing isn’t everyone’s sense of humour, but no need to be offended. It’s just banter.
