I remember the writer saying that if the story was done now they would keep it simpler without such things as Hades and Chronus happening. A more down to earth slice of life story.
But I’m glad the story was done the way it was. It was more fun this way.
I really wish Starlight’s words were given more examination. Obviously her actions are wrong, but she’s not wrong to say that Twilight in naive in thinking that everyone who acts evil is just misguided and can be shown the light. Starlight herself is basically showing her the folly of such thinking. The ones you choose to spare might always just be waiting for their next opportunity to strike.
Even in the next page Twilight is still trying to give her a bit of an out by saying that necklace can corrupt it’s user, while seemingly ignoring that Starlight is showing absolutely no remorse and treating it like its unimportant even without it’s influence. So calling her a false prophet really feels accurate since she can be so blind to the truth in front of her eyes.
Celestia had the balls to lock her own sister up for a millenium, but Twilight just can’t bring herself to bring down hard justice on a single person as long as they show a bit of remorse or could possibly change. You can call Celestia useless in the present era, but when she was in action she got stuff done.
Also, what did ANY of this have to do with Motherly Scootaloo? It just seems completely random to throw in.

The story got very convoluted.
