If you bothered to read the posts, you’d know the chain of conversation started with a comment on this continuity’s version of Adagio and went from there. Can things only be discussed when they’re directly depicted in your world?

Sonata isn’t even in this strip. Take your hate boner to pages where she’s actually in, for fuck’s sake.
Yeah, it was before the reveal that Sonata gave birth to and raised Jack the fyaying Ripper. And just before that, the moment she told her own child that she didn’t care in the least about her while smiling a sunny smile. That was the moment most of us were firmly in the “you fyaying monster” camp. Impressions like that last.
SSS should be a spin-off about how Sonata raised her kids.
Agreed, we need to rename the comic to “Sonata’s Sociopathy Studies” lol.
Sonata isn’t an animal incapable of thought or reason, and sociopaths are still responsible for their own behavior. That in mind, we can and absolutely should blame Sonata for her own behavior.
That’s because for all that they are predators, neither Aria or Adagio are sociopaths. They can empathize, and love, they just happen to be sadists that used to feed on negative emotions. Sonata… was apparently just broken in a more fundamental way. I don’t know that we can even blame her for what happened to Jack, because she more than either of the other two is a total monster. It’s like she lacks an Ego at all, and is just Id personified.
I didn’t say she would or should given what they were at the time, I said it’s the worst thing she’s ever done as far as we know. All three sirens were bad, but Sonata was ridiculously evil even compared to Aria and Adagio, and from what we’ve seen of her? The only thing that’s changed is that she no longer has magic, whereas Aria and Adagio (especially the latter) seem like much nicer people.
Even Aria has shown some hint of remorse for what she used to be, but Sonata just threw a tantrum when users pointed out how horrific her behavior was and continues to be.
Why would she have? All three of them were vicious monsters who liked hurting people. That Adagio liked her kids isn’t really much of a redeeming trait.
It’s only now that they’re, y’know… people. Even Sonata is just kind of a selfish asshole now instead of being monstrously cruel.
How about karmic reward for forbidding Sonata from having more children and destroying their lives?
