I highly doubt that things will come to blows like that, Velen himself had his dose of reality when Turalyons’ message was sent to Azeroth and the Exodar was invaded: his long-standing faith and belief in the Light was tested that day as he was forced to confront his own past… as he cradled the broken and dead body of Rakeesh; his only son whom he had left behind on Argus 25,000 years ago.
The time he spent with Illidan opened his mind to stepping away from the Holy Light in order to try and re-evaluate the stance that his people should take. If anything, he is probably well-aware of the issues regarding the Army of Light and their zealotry towards agents of the Legion, along with the growing distrust that will eventually form between them and the newly-established Ren’dorei. However there is an opportunity tthat is very much present on the Alternate Draenor that can stop a civil war from brooding within the Alliance… That opportunity being the Arakkoa that belong to the Order of the Awakened: a sect of Arakkoa that we had a place in creating in this Timeline that was never present in the Prime Timeline, who had destroyed themselves before the cataclysm of Outland ever could reach this stage. The Order of the Awakened is formed from Corrupted and Uncorrupted Arakkoa that seek out a new existence away from the false teachings of the Adherents of Rukhmar, this Order had already seen the destructive potential of a culture that is purely dominated by the Light alone, and has knowledge on how to resist the temptations of the Void due to the practices of Anzu that were taught ot the Arakkoa Outcasts that formed the backbone of the Order. When the Lightbound began to make their move, the Arakkoa belonging to the Order had already seen the telltale signs of what was going to happen and prepared accordingly.

Prophet Velen would have left for the Alternate Draenor, spurred by the promise made by Yrel that if their world ever needed help that the Draenei of this timeline could help them out. Traveling to the alternate timeline with the help of Chromie along with bringing Farseer Nobundo to see Draenor in all its original splendor, the group sees the telltale signs that life on the planet is slowly dying out not because of Demonic influence like before; but because of something else entirely, Nobundo finds himself unable to properly commune with the Elements due to the Lightbound wiping out or converting most of the Orc Clans that practiced Shamanism into worshipping the Light alone. Meeting with High Exarch Yrel, Velen is intruigued by how much they had expanded upon Shattrath, but takes note that the High Exarch is deeply interested in speaking with the Army of the Light like she had expected would happen if Velen was here, only to hear that they were present in the Alliance in his timeline and that he came to ask them for his assistance in protecting the Alliance from the Old Gods and the Horde. As this is happening, Nobundo and Chromie notice something out of the corner of their eyes as a family of Mag’har Orcs are forcibly and painfully converted over to the Light and head off to warn Velen what is happening, only for the High Exarch to cast aside all pretenses and say that if the Alliance is having such a hard time in dealing with the Horde because of their disunity with one-another, than she will go there herself with her Lightbound and completely annihilate the Horde and all that are considered to be enemies of the Light. Before anything could be done however, the Arakkoa begin an attack on the city of Shattrath hoping to assassinate Yrel and cut the head from the Lightbound once-and-for-all. One of the attackers recognizes you as the Garrison Commander that had helped the Outcasts out and formed the Order of the Awakened due to your actions all those years ago and have you and the others evacuated back to Skyreach.

Talking with Reshaad who is still alive after all these years, and being caught up to speed with what happened with Yrel and the other Draenei after we left, Velen sees a familiarity in the old Scrollkeeper who had helped to lead the Outcasts in their darkest hour to a brighter future in the Order of the Awakened, just as he himself was sought out by the Naaru when Sargeras came to power and helped to defeat him millenia later, because of this Velen asks Reshaad for him and his Arakkoa to join with the Alliance in saving them from potential civil war due to their own understanding of a balance that is needed between the Lightforged Draenei and the Void Elves. Reshaad agrees and we evacuate the Arakkoa around the Spires of Arak before the Lightbound arrive to try and wipe us all out and to get control over Chromie in order to travel back to our Azeroth herself with her army to take over the Army of Light, Chromie working with Reshaad and Velen help to tear open a portal in time to Azeroth and we all land in the middle of the Elwynn Forest waterfalls behind Northshire Abbey as we head to Stormwind to have the Arakkoa become members of the Alliance.

@Ohvist
Well we’ve got two timelines to examine and it’s still pretty much pointing toward the Naaru potentially being up to something. Likely things along the lines of their order needs to be the way things are. Everyone needs to play by their rules and act as they tell them to act. We’re only getting hints of it here and there now, specifically with how Yrel in the modern day of the alternate timeline is leading her people and giving the Orcs she was allied with a hard time for not living the same way they are, but also with how Illidan was nearly forcefully purified despite a clear bigger picture at play. Despite how stupid the writing is for Illidan to say in one (or several) moment that the hand of fate must be forced, then the next that his destiny is his own, and then kills the admittedly somewhat bitchy deity just because she tried fixing him.

Even in a time of crisis, the Naaru want things done a specific way. People complain that the Horde is getting way too much time in the negative light that always paints them as bad guys, but ignoring that the Horde continuously recruit questionable people that history has shown multiple times they can’t be completely trusted *(GARITHOS LITERALLY DID NOTHING WRONG, THANKS FOR THAT SYLVANNAS!!)*, people are glossing over how the Alliance is reeeeaaally starting to set themselves up for shit hitting the fan right about now. Much as I like the Lightforged Draenei, partnering up with them is most certainly not gonna end well. And we’re for some reason just letting them sit in orbit with the ship we powered right the fuck up on Argus. We’ve literally given these heavily religious aliens an orbital defense platform and see nothing wrong with it.
Once some stuff with the void starts settling itself, the Naaru are gonna make their move, and Velen is gonna conflicted with a heavy case of irony when he starts to think about Archimonde and Kil’jaeden as the top dog Eredar they were because of the heavy empowerment from the Fel, but what does it make a Draenei that’s gotten heavy empowerment from the Light if not simply a Holy Eredar?
Couple that with the regular Draenei, the Humans and Dwarves in the Paladin/Priest ranks, kinda seems like it’ll be pointing to natural forces of Azeroth (Shamans and Druids) as the only sane people left to stop it. Nobundo, Tyrande, Malfurion, Thrall, etc, they’re literally the only ones not setting shit up for disaster, and would be the only ones left to fix everything.

You know, assuming they don’t somehow make Tyrande out to be a bad guy, even though literally everything she’s doing in her current angry state is entirely justifiable and she’s still getting screwed over by piss poor writing thanks to a guy that turned a character into his OC to make a high ranked Gary Stu for the Horde that needs to die.

@Ledvi
To be fair, Yrel is from a timeline that had their Velen die long ago, and without his patience and influence to guide the Draenei through great hardships like what happened in the Prime Timeline where their civilization was brought to their knees by the Horde, allowing them to open their minds to new possibilities like the ways of Shamanism as discovered by the former Exarch now Farseer Nobundo. Without Velen to temper the Draenei on that alternate Draenor, along with the survival of their civilization to prosper in his abscense along with the Alliance and Hordes campaign to reach Garrosh and break apart the Iron Horde at all costs: blasting their way through most of the other factions native to Draenor like the Ogres of Highmaul and Frostfire Ridge, the High Arakkoa of Skyreach, the Botani of Everbloom, the Sargerei, the Iron Horde and eventually the Fel Horde: it basically wiped out anything and everything that would have served as an obstacle or enemy to the Draenei of this world.

@Ledvi
Never mind that without Valewalker Farodin’s (a night elf) arcan’dor seed and the actions of my Alliance champion the Nightborne would be doomed to eternal slavery and magic addiction.

Thalyssra’s decision in this case is pretty close to peak shitty writing.
Ledvi

@cheezedoodle
To be fair..

  1. Tyrande was very prejudice towards Thalyssra and the Nightborne nevermind of the recent events in Suramar City and how the Nightborne were treating each other during Legion.

  2. Nightbornes were the only allied race that aided Lor’Themar on reclaiming the Sunwell after Alleria touched the Sunwell when she was specifically told not to.

    So…yeah.
Ledvi

@Brownee
Not really. He was starting to learn and advices from Saurfang. The quest involving the bombing on Thal’darah Grove is a great example.

Too bad Blizz decided to make him the main villain instead of the Sha of Pride.

@Mojo
I really hate the idea that the Light can be used for evil act. This just conflicts the idea and purpose of paladins in general.

Say what you guys will about the Scarlet Crusade, but it was their radical ideas that turned them zealots, not Xe’ra.

Next Blizzard is going to tell us that warlocks can be used for good nevermind that it was that class and a specific person that was responsible for never ending war in Azeroth.

I almost feel bad rolling a Lightforged Draenei after hearing this.
Mojo

TIME TO GO ON A SPACE GOAT LIGHT NAZI CRUSADE!!!

@cheezedoodle

It’s more like the stuff with Xe’ra and Illidan than Garrosh, but yeah it’s still really out of nowhere. She’s pretty sad when she has to fight Grom though.

A shame that Blizzard is giving Yrel the same treatment as Garrosh. It’s really stupid.

I am hoping it’s not really as bad as some people are saying.

I really liked Yrel.
